O-H! D-U!

6.21.14 and 6.22.14: One of my goals for the year was to put my bike to use and try out a duathlon or two. When my husband and I saw that there was a triathlon/duathlon that finished in Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, we knew we had to sign up. We both consider ourselves pretty die hard Buckeyes fans, so we figured this would be a fun race.

The second transition, from bike to run, was located on the field of the stadium. While I’ve been here to see games before, this was my first time getting to go on the field. Just getting to go in the day before to set up transition, was exciting enough, let alone passing through during the race! These pictures capture the on-field experience, including a view from the “band ramp” into the stadium.

All in all, it was a great first duathlon. It began with a 2.4-mile run around Antrim Lake, a 23-mile ride down High Street to OSU, and a 6.2-mile run around campus. The second run was tiring, but I managed to finish in the top three overall females (out of not that many, but who’s counting??) so not too shabby!
