7.19.14: This collection of photos is from the southern leg of Skyline Drive, from Swift Run Gap to Rockfish Gap. Some were taken along the road, while others come from a trail run near the Loft Mountain Wayside. Here, I climbed up a sharp hill to get to the Appalachian Trail, where I did a short trail run before returning through the Loft Mountain Campground to the wayside. While there are some sharp climbs, the trail is quite an awe-inspiring place to go for a run! There were several cyclists (my husband included!) on Skyline Drive that day…perhaps if I can build my cycling legs a bit more, I’ll have to go for a ride on my next visit!
