A Tour of Salisbury

9.27.14: On this lovely early fall morning, my husband was doing the Seagull Century bike ride (metric century distance) in Salisbury, Maryland. Since I’ve completely neglected my cycling skills since beginning my marathon training plan, I passed on the bike ride and did a 15 mile run instead. I was skeptical that I would find somewhere interesting to run since Salisbury is a pretty small town, but as I ran west from the campus of Salisbury University toward the Wicomico River, I was pleasantly surprised. Leafy pre-war residential streets gave way to views of the river and its tributaries, and the early morning fog provided a sense of calm to the beginning of the run. Fifteen miles flew by, but I did have envy seeing everyone on their bikes…I’d better start riding mine again soon!

After the run, nothing says refreshment like a trip to Evolution Brewing…until now, this was the only reason we had ever been to Salisbury!
