Fall in Rock Creek Park

11.2.14: For my last 20-miler, I headed to Rock Creek Parkway to take in the fall leaves and shield myself from a windy day. The park runs from Downtown DC to the northernmost boundary of the District, and traversing the 10-mile length of the park allowed me to see a variety of colors. The southernmost part of the park was still generally green, while the northern extent was starting to lose its leaves. Although wind gusts exceeded 30 miles per hour on this run, the valley that Rock Creek runs through generally sheltered me from the worst of the wind. It was a great day for leaf peeping!
