1.17.15: On MLK weekend we traveled to New York to take advantage of the dirt cheap January hotel rates and get in some running! I had a 16-miler on tap for this weekend, so I headed down to the Hudson and ran north along the Hudson River Greenway, part of the Manhattan Waterfront Greenway system. This trail runs along the west side of Manhattan, connecting Battery Park to the George Washington Bridge. Starting at West 57th Street, I traveled north all the way to West 130th Street, returning south along Riverside Drive and eventually connecting over to Central Park. Despite temperatures hovering around 30 degrees, it was a beautiful sunny day to check out some of Manhattan’s nature. Many geese, ducks, and squirrels were also doing the same.
