Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath

5.19.15: While visiting Cleveland, I had the opportunity to revisit one of my favorite running spots in the area, the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath. This trail runs though the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, generally paralleling the Cuyahoga River. After a wet, humid weekend, this morning was cool and crisp…perfect for a run! I started at the Station Road trailhead, admiring the old Station Road bridge as well as the new bridge carrying Route 82 over the valley. Before I could even get across the bridge to the towpath, one of the trains of the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad passed by on its way to Akron. All in all, it was a great morning to run in one of Northeast Ohio’s scenic treasures.
