5.15.15: On a drive back to Ohio we stopped for a quick run on the Western Maryland Rail Trail. This trail runs for approximately 23 miles along the abandoned Western Maryland Railroad right-of-way, paralleling the C&O Canal Towpath and Interstate 70. While this morning’s run only covered four miles, we were able to get a sense of the rural landscape through which the trail passes. These pictures are near the trail’s eastern terminus at Big Pool Junction, not far from the town of Hancock, Maryland.
