4.17.16-4.18.16: For the third year in a row we visited Boston for the Boston Marathon. Prior to the race, I did a short run near the hotel in Newton in Auburndale Park, along the Charles River. The wooded trails provide a peaceful retreat from the city, contrasting with the crowds and enthusiasm present during the marathon.

Unlike the rain of last year, race day this year was on the sunny and warm side of things. While it was a great day for spectating, it did become a little uncomfortable over the course of three and a half hours. As a reward, after the race, we took in the afterparty at Fenway Park, complete with baseball food and cold Sam Adams beer!
