Fall at the Towpath

10.24.15: Time for fall foliage! As the leaves began to turn, we ventured out west of DC to run a new to us part of the C&O Canal Towpath Trail. This portion of the trail, slightly west of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, runs along the north/west side of the Potomac River, leading to the Antietam Creek aqueduct. While some of the foliage was still green, isolated portions of the trail were beginning to reveal their colors. Most of the trees near the river were yellow in color, with occasional reds and oranges. This was a perfect fall day for a 14-mile run, with a combination of cool air and sunshine.
